Construction Begins!

Construction of the new Special Care wing and chapel entrance is under way. Moving of various utlitity lines has occurred this past fall in preparation for the start of this project.

The project will add new living space for the special care neighborhood including a new family room and dining space with lots of windows (see floor plan below).

The existing common spaces in the Special Care Neighborhood will also be reconfigured to move the current dining space to outside walls with natural light. Various family room and gathering spaces will also be added and reconfigured. In addition, the four "quad" rooms that are home to four residents in each quad, will enjoy a major makeover including privacy walls and new furnishings.

The second part of the project plan is to add a new chapel entrance. It will include a covered drive through drop off. This will allow easier access and provide a more defined entrance to the chapel.

Staff working on this expansion have begun referring to the project as "SPACE" - SPecial care And Chapel Entrance.
