1. Is Admission to Enhanced Living and Nursing Care exclusive to current residents of Messiah Village?
Messiah Village offers a spectrum of services and accommodations with various points of entry. We offer direct admission to all of our levels of living including Enhanced Living and Nursing Care. Our Adult Day and Home Care services are also available in the greater Harrisburg area.
2. How long is your waiting list?
Our applicant list varies dependent upon your desired accommodations. For more information on the time frame for a specific accommodation, please contact a member of the Welcome Center.
3. Do you have to be Brethren In Christ to be considered for residency at Messiah Village?
Messiah Village welcomes all regardless of race, color, religion, sex, familial status, disability or national origin.
4. Are there financial guidelines for admission to Messiah Village?
The Welcome Center will evaluate your financial resources and assess if you have the resources available to pay for current and future care.
5. Do I need to relinquish all of my assets to Messiah Village upon admission?
No. However, there is an entrance fee to Residential Living with various refund options. There are also monthly or daily fees for all levels of living.
6. Will Medicare pay for Nursing Care?
Medicare may pay for a limited amount of time in Nursing Care. For more information, please contact a member of the Welcome Center or the Medicare website at: www.medicare.gov.
7. Will Medicare pay for Enhanced Living?
No, currently Medicare does not pay for Enhanced Living services.
8. How do I know what level of living is appropriate for me or my loved one?
A Messiah Village representative will speak with you or your loved one to better understand their needs and medical history and will make a recommendation in conjunction with their physician.
9. How long will I have to wait before going to settlement on my Residential Living apartment or cottage?
There is a 3-month period between the day you reserve your Residential Living accommodation and the time of your settlement.
10. Am I allowed to bring my pet to Messiah Village?
Pets are allowed in Residential Living. Pets need to be well behaved and leashed while outdoors.
11. Is smoking permitted on the Messiah Village campus?
Messiah Village is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not permitted in any level of living.
12. Are meals provided at Messiah Village?
Three meals a day are provided in Enhanced Living and Nursing Care. In Residential Living, there are dining options available including a restaurant, take-out service and a coffee shop.
