THE PRINCIPLES OF COMMUNITY LIFE

Overview
Messiah Village's mission is to be "a ministry that responsibly enhances the lives of older adults with Christ-like love". We believe life is enhanced in three ways: First through an active inward journey of personal growth, secondly through an outward journey of sharing with others, and finally by journeying together with others. We are committed to being a community that provides opportunities for it members to continue their life's journey.

The Principles of Community Life

    Principles of Community Life

The Journey Together Celebrating - Hospitality, Respect & Participation

    The Journey Inward
Growing - Purpose, Discovery, & Contentment

    The Journey Outward
Sharing - Peace, Wisdom & Service

  1. Journey Together - The journey together focuses on relationships, civility, and celebration. This principle will be implemented by providing opportunities to journey together through hospitality, respect and participation in the life of the community.
  2. Journey Inward - The inward journey focuses on the body, mind and soul of each member of the community. This principle will be implemented by providing opportunities for each member of the community to journey inward toward greater purpose, discovery and contentment.
  3. Journey Outward - The outward journey focuses on caring for and sharing with others. This principle will be implemented by providing opportunities to journey outward through sharing peace, wisdom, and service on campus, in the region and around the world.

Celebrating, Growing, and Sharing
Intentional and meaningful community life is central to achieving the Village's mission of enhancing life. We believe life can be enhanced when persons have opportunities to pursue their own growth with an inward journey of the body, mind and soul, have opportunities to journey outward and care for and share their hearts and hands with others, and have opportunities to joyously journey together with others and build respectful, participatory relationships.
