Mechanicsburg Senior Center

The Mechanicsburg Senior Center is a program of Messiah Village supported in part, by a grant from the Cumberland County Office of Aging and Community Services the Pennsylvania Department of Aging and the US Department of Health and Human Services,Administration on Aging.

The Mechanicsburg Senior Center is located at 97 West Portland St. in Mechanicsburg. We are open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The goal is to enhance the dignity, support the independence and encourage the involvement of seniors, as well as having lots of fun together.

Is There a Fee?
Anyone 60 or older may participate in center activity without cost, except where fees are specifically noted .We do have an optional Supporting Membership, which as indicated, provides vital support for the ongoing operation of the center. Our supporting members are entitled to our bi-monthly newsletter, The Acorn.
Transportation
If you are unable to drive or do not wish to; free bus transportation is available to and from the center through the Cumberland County Transportation Department. You may call their office at 1- 800 315-2546 or our office at
697-5947.

Lunches
Nutritionally balanced meals are provided by the Cumberland County Office of Aging and are served at 11:30. A secure box is available for optional donations to CCOA, which in turn defray meal costs and allow more meals to be served. 24 hour notice is required to reserve a meal.

How Can I Help?
The Mechanicsburg Senior Center is a community program. It needs the community’s support in terms of helping us to provide services and with financial support. We would be happy to talk with those interested in helping assist our area seniors maintain an independent, meaningful and productive lifestyle.
